I would like to discuss the "The Competition Act 1998". I have read quite often failure of small businesses or closure due to competition from larger rivals. Take the rise of "T*sco land" areas, there are plans to build 1 large store, extend another to almost triple size and build a new T*sco extra. All within 8-10 km or so. So this could affect the bakeries, markets, etc nearby, they will also sell electrical items and clothes. So this has an impact on a lot of small business. Recently I noticed BT getting involved with computer services etc. Surely there is something in this Competition Act that protects small businesses?

I'd like to know how other people have reacted and what the laws they know to help them or if their business is suffering from a larger competitor.
