Hi. I hope I am posting this in the correct Forum.
I have recently retired and taken a 3 day part-time office job to soften the blow of full retirement. The company is a small family run local business, which suits my present needs. The new 2008 holiday entitlement changes are very welcome and will help with the company's present policy of taking back the Xmas Holidays (presently 4 days) as part of individuals leave entitlement.
My question is that here in Scotland there are two public holidays at Xmas and two at New Year. However since I work only 3 days (Tues, Wed and Thurs); the second Public Holiday (ie Boxing Day and 2 Jan) fall on Fri this year - a day I am not employed. Can I assume that I am only expected to relinguish 2 days of my holiday entitlement this year towards these two Public Holidays of Xmas and the New Year?
