Just wondering which of all the various accounting packages is the most popular. Personally I like MYOB but I'm warming to KashFlow.
=============
I've voted 'other'.....has anybody had a look at Businessware?

Rob
=============
Another vote for 'other'.

Currently using TASBooks, considering switching to LedgerSMB (http://www.ledgersmb.org/).
=============
I like Kashflow as a bookkeeping package but prefer others for Accounting Adjustments / Audit Trails. MS Accounting is good (no client licence issues) and MYOB easy to use.
=============
I voted other as I currently use Microsoft Accounting at present but if my business were a bit bigger I would use KashFlow.
=============
Quickbooks every time
=============
In house we generally use TASBooks but we also use and support Sage and QuickBooks and some of our clients use Excel !!!
=============
I've used MYOB extensively, and grew to like it, although it's not without its glitches that need 'work-arounds'.

I've only ever used bespoke accounting software other than that.

But what I REALLY like is a nice fat red Collins Cash Book - does that count?:)

MoK
=============
Use my own accounting software which is a series of accounting spreadsheets written on excel spreadsheets and automates the tax returns for my clients.
=============
Surprised not to see Ms Accounting and TasBooks listed in the poll.

Personally I use Quickbooks.
=============
Sage 50 here.
=============
Am I allowed to vote for KashFlow? : )

How many of the others have added this many (http://www.kashflow.co.uk/changelog.asp) new features this year because their customers requested them AND made the upgrades instantly available at no extra charge? :)
=============
You most certainly are Duane.
I voted for excel spreadsheets because that is my area of the industry.
KashFlow is Number One for accounting software, on google at least (smile)
Have you checked MSN live recently (big smile)
Go for it Duane, love the competition.

...... AND made the upgrades instantly available at no extra charge?

Didn't you learn from Bill? You keep the customers waiting and then make them pay a ransom to be released from misery. Your PR people can spin it so the customers think it's a really good idea to pay the ransom, and if you are really clever you can demand one every couple of years or so.

Seriously though, you've shown exactly why SaaS is the way forward. Both customers and the supplier benefit, and that, to me, is good business.

Learn from him? The world has moved on. Do you really think it's a coincidence that he quit a few months after meeting me (http://www.kashflow.co.uk/pressrelease_0028.asp)? Our business model scared the hell out of him. I did offer to let him learn from us. But old dogs, new tricks, etc : )

Sorry, I'm taking this off topic. I'll behave now.

Kashflow :)

I actually enjoy doing my accounts now (how sad is that!) :)
=============

Ha! Didn't know about that.

Any meetings with Gordon Brown in your schedule?
=============
I love the KashFlow business model simply because it is exactly the business I was going to do before I took the easier option of focusing designing accounting spreadsheets for self employed accounts and small companies.
=============
Ha! Didn't know about that.

Not recently, just a couple of times when he was Chancellor. And the current Chancellor more recently (http://www.realbusiness.co.uk/search_tags/5273631/dragons-drugs-and-darling.thtml). Alistair Darling is absolutely nothing like his public image. He said he could "do with some K(c)ashFlow" (credit crunch, geddit! boom boom.) and enquired whether I could go over to the Treasury (we were just across the road) to help with the numbers - which he later repeated to a bbig audience. Very friendly and relaxed.
=============
Spreadsheet using OpenOffice.org Calc :)
=============
OpenOffice.org

Yay! :D
Hoorah for opensource software!

Alas I have to use Excel, as I use VT which is an excel plugin.
I voted Quickbooks, as that's my primary piece of software.

That's an awesome story and really made me smile!
