Hi All
I have been looking into starting up my own bookkeeping business for some time now. I am based in South London. I am looking to do it part time to start with and hopefully after sometime I will be able to afford to do it full time. A bit about me... I am an Associate member of the ICB, I have one more exam to complete the AAT. I have been working for 4 years (since I left school) and have covered in detail the following areas: Purchase Ledger (all aspects), Sales Ledger (all aspects), Bank Recs, Credit Control, Invoicing. In the last year I have been doing accounts up to trial balance doing accruels and pre payments, Payrol and looking after the fixed asset register. I believe I now have enough experience to start up myself, part time at first, but I know it will be hard at first to get new cleints etc...
So if any of you are outsourcing any work for your smaller clients or if anyone knows of anyone who is looking for a bookkeeper or even if you just have some advise please PM me or email me at abbookkeeping'at'hotmail.co.uk
Thanks for your time

Hi Andrew
The ICB have job vacancies on their site for associate members and members, sometimes these are part time, sometimes they are for self employed bookkeepers and also full time jobs.
I cannot remember if to get on this part of the ICB website you need a practising certificate which was around ?0 but may have gone up, might be worth you checking with the ICB.
