Hi
wondered if anyone could advise as my personal circumstances re mileage seem to be changing.
The main office where I'm based is moving (actually nearer home).
The company has offices elsewhere to which I have to travel. Given that would I be able to travel to the other offices and claim mileage?
Its likely that I'll be in the main base 3 days per week with visits to the other offices and/or site visits the remainder of the time
Cheers =============
Are you employed or self employed? =============
hi
im employed - its been suggested that as my main and permanent base will be elsewhere I can claim for other site (company owned premises) and off site visits but just want to make sure =============
Yes, thats right. You can claim journeys to the other sites and your off site visits.
How much does your company pay? You can reclaim the difference if less than the approved mileage rates. =============
thanks for confirming that - its 40p per mile so up to HMRC guidelines I think =============
Does the company actually pay you the ?.40 per mile? =============
yes they do =============
Hiya Jo
You might want to have a look at this HMRC Factsheet (http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/mileage/employee-factsheet.htm) about using your own vehicle for work.
Hope it helps. :) =============
