Hi all
My accounts are due with Companies House 30th September. I have everything in Sage, just need the final prep. Can anyone on here help? (Need a good rate as i'm a bit skint!)
Thanks =============
Sorry I can't meet this time scale.
I think this could be a bit ambitious but good luck in your search for someone to complete them and get them filed by this time. =============
Tight, but maybe - sent you a PM. =============
Quick and cheap? No thanks! :cool: =============

You may help yourself and indeed the chosen firm by getting a filing extension? I assume as they are due at the end of a month that they are not the company's first set and if so, were last year's accounts filed by a firm of accountants as this may make this deadline impossible for this year's firm if they have to get clearance, opening TB etc?
If you do not particularly need a November y/e, then changing the year-end next week would automatically give longer to file. =============
This is the second y/e. The first was a dormant return. Can we change the y/e, as last year we changed it, so as to cover only the dormant period. =============
You can change it every year if you wish! The only restriction is not extending it more than once every five years (other than in some very specific circumstances).
So even if you extended it in year 1, you could now shorten it, but in so doing would automatically get a three month filing extension.
On the otehr hand, if you shortened it in year 1, you could now shorten again or extend (in which case the filing deadline may extend by more than three months).
Other considerations before changing the year-end are the possible impact on the Corp Tax liability and how easily your book-keeping system can deal with the change. =============
How do i go about changing it? An acocountant did last year for me. =============

Thanks, that's good.
If i extend the y/e, does the filing date then become 10 months from the new y/e, or just another 3 months? =============

Whichever is the longer - extend 1-3 months and get 3 months to file or extend 4-6 months and get 4-6 months to file. =============
And you can extend up to a maximum of 18 months from the start of the accounting period =============
Ok thanks, you have been a great help. What will this do to Corporation Tax return, or this annual? =============
I assume that the company commenced trading in December 2006 and hence your first dormant accounts were shortened to November 2006.
If you now extend the year-end (and let's say that the exact date that you started trading was 10/12/06) then you will need to file two CT600 returns for this accounting period - one covering the year from 10/12/06 to 9/12/07 and then a second covering the short period from 10/12/07 to your new year-end date. =============
OK thanks. =============
