i have to hold my hands up at being completely to blame for this :( . i'm very mad with myself that i didn't realise the implications under the new CIS scheme of late PAYE payments :redface:
so, we're a small Limited company, 3 employees plus me & husband as directors. i'm responsible for all the paperwork/wages etc which gets shipped off to the accountants once a year. everything filed & paid on time & no problems (until now :redface:) with anything.
i've had the dreaded HMRC letterhead through the door this morning, Failure to Comply & Gross payment status as a aubcontractor will be withdrawn in 90 days - 30 days to file an appeal.
all tax & NI has been paid, but paid late due to cashflow problems.
anyone with any experience of the appeal process? i only really have the cashflow problems to blame for this...(& my damned ignorance, but would me contacting them have made any difference anyway i wonder :|).
